This page exists so carriers, The Campaign Registry, and our customers can see exactly how and where we ask permission to send rental text messages.
Where we ask for consent. Happy Seats collects text-message consent in three places, always at the moment a customer gives us a mobile number, and always with the same wording. The consent box is unchecked until the customer chooses it, and declining never affects the rental.
- In person, at the Happy Seats tent — on the rental screen, the customer reads the consent line and taps the box themselves.
- Online at happyseats.co — on the waiver form and at account sign-up.
- In the Happy Seats app for iPhone and Android — on account sign-up and the rental agreement screen.
The consent line everyone sees
The same wording appears everywhere we ask, unchecked by default:
☐ Text me about my rental. I agree to receive booking-related text messages (confirmations, reminders, updates) from Happy Seats at the number provided. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. Consent is not required to rent. See Terms and Privacy Policy.
Shown unchecked, exactly as it appears to every customer before they check it.
What happens at the tent
- The customer comes to the tent. Happy Seats staffs a branded tent at the venue entrance and rents seat cushions in person.
- Staff open the rental screen. On a staff-only tablet, behind a staff PIN login. This screen is not reachable by the public.
- The customer gives their number. Staff type the name and mobile number the customer gives, or hand the tablet to the customer to enter it themselves. Nothing is imported, purchased, or pre-filled.
- The customer reads the consent line and taps the box. It's unchecked by default — the customer decides, and taps it themselves. Staff don't check it on the customer's behalf.
- Declining changes nothing about the rental. If the box stays unchecked, the rental still goes ahead the same way. You'll still get the handful of texts needed to service that rental — your pass link, a return reminder, and any fee notice — the same way a receipt isn't optional; those aren't marketing. Reply STOP at any time and Happy Seats stops texting that number immediately, no exceptions.
- Consent is recorded. If the customer checks the box, the consent is saved on the rental record with a timestamp.
Online, at happyseats.co
The waiver form (happyseats.co/waiver) shows the same unchecked consent line above the signature step. Creating an account (happyseats.co/account/login) also collects a mobile number — that number is used to send account-related texts, including one-time login codes, and the sign-up screen discloses this with the same message-rate and STOP/HELP language before the account is created.
What we send
- Message types: a one-time login code when you sign in; your pass link and status after a rental; reminders that seats are due back; notices of non-return or damage fees charged to the card on file.
- What we never send: marketing, promotions, affiliate offers, or anything from a third party.
- Who receives them: only the person who rented or created the account, and only while a rental, fee, or login is active.
- Frequency: varies with your rental activity — typically two to four messages per rental.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply.
- Stopping: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also just tell staff at the tent.
- Is it required? No. Consent to text messages is never a condition of renting a seat.
Your number stays with us
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
